“I just wanted to let you know how a little participation in one of your programs can inspire hours of off-screen fun. My child attended some sort of an art activity with Thomas last week. At the end, I believe she had a ripped brown paper shopping bag...didn't look like much. She then proceeded to work on it over the weekend with a glue gun, digging through the recycling bin for colorful items to add, etc. I just wanted you to know that while students may not attend your programs all the time, they have provided valuable experiences and creative outlet during this time at home. “I want to thank the entire DEDP staff for putting some actual fun into a pandemic. You were so on it - up and running really fast and giving my child some structure and social interaction. I also learned a lot and selfishly would follow along in the background (or not - like the day I got really into my collage with all of you). With DEDP we traveled to China, space, zoos, aquariums. We shared our pet fish Rocky and we learned more about soccer, earth, and our own house while we did scavenger hunts. Personally I laughed a lot while listening to the zooms as an escape from my actual work. “
