To DEDP Kindergarten, from a Dolphin Trainer!

In honor of our two weeks of the Oceans theme, we have a special "guest" from the Dolphin Research Center in the Florida Keys. Alex Rickert, who is the brother of our our Spring 2014 Northeastern Co-op (MacKenzie Rickert), is a Dolphin Trainer who sent us a video to personally introduce Driscoll Extended Day Kindergarteners to a few of the animal pals at his facility.

Kindergarteners will be watching Alex's video during Group Time on Monday and Tuesday (3:30-4:00pm) in Room 101, but you are welcome to watch the video as many times as you like at home! Together at Group Time, kids and teachers will generate questions they would like to ask our special guest, including information about the marine animals, what daily life at the research center is like, and what it's like to be a dolphin trainer. Later, our friend Alex will send us a new video response to answer our questions!

In the meantime, we will be reading plenty of books about marine biology, ocean wildlife, and many kinds of sea animals during Group Time and Project.

We can't wait to hear what questions the kindergarteners have! Families, please share all comments and questions by either: (1) responding directly to this post via the comments section OR (2) directing all messages to Kris at driscollprogram@gmail.com.

PLEASE CLICK "READ MORE" TO WATCH THE VIDEO.

Thank you!
