Welcome to the Driscoll Extended Day Program! The staff and I are looking forward to a great year with you and your children. Please bookmark our website dedpbrookline.org. The website will be a useful tool for families during the year.
DEDP OPEN HOUSE: Wednesday, September 2nd @ 5:00-5:45pm in the Driscoll theater. Please use Door #10 to enter the building. This is an informal time for children and families to meet and greet DEDP staff. All families are welcome--both new and returning!
EXTENDED DAY PROGRAMMING BEGINS:
Kindergarten begins on Tuesday, September 8th.
Grades 1-5 begin on Thursday, September 3rd.
DEDP is closed on Monday, September 7th due to Labor Day.
SEPTEMBER FULL DAY PROGRAMMING 8 am - 6 pm:
MUST REGISTER LIMITED SPACE AVAILABLE, ADDITIONAL COST. *See form below
DEDP will be open on Monday, September 14th.
DEDP will be open on Wednesday, September 23rd.
NEW FAMILY ORIENTATION (REQUIRED):
Thursday, September 10th @ 5:00-5:45pm in the Driscoll Computer Lab

We know this is a busy time of year as families prepare for the start of school. To help with the DEDP paperwork that is needed we have created the following online forms. Please use the following links to complete the forms. In addition, these forms will be available on the DEDP website next week.
Important Child Background Information & Homework Contract Grades 2-5
** All families are allowed to register no matter the child’s regular schedule
September Full-Day Program Sign-up Form
HOMEWORK TIME (GRADES 2-5):
Please fill out the homework contract located in the Child Information Form located above. Children will sign a homework contract once homework time begins during the week of September 8th.
** Children that do not have a contract will attend homework time and will read or draw quietly.
- Grade 2 has 25 minutes of homework time on Tues, Weds, & Thurs
- Grades 3, 4, 5 have 25-50 minutes of homework time Mon, Tues,
Weds, & Thurs.

DEDP PROGRAM SPACE:
The program space is on the first floor of the Driscoll School. These rooms consist of Room 101, Room 115, Room 116, the gym, cafeteria, theater, computer lab, and the DEDP Kitchen.
STUDENT ARRIVAL TO DEDP:
As the regular school day ends, Kindergarten and Grade 1 children will be escorted daily from their classrooms to the cafeteria for Extended Day.
Children in grades 2-5 will walk on their own to the cafeteria at the end of the school day. There will be a DEDP staff member in the 2nd grade hallway to assist 2nd graders in transitioning to DEDP on Thursday, September 3rd and Friday, September 4th.
DEDP PROGRAM HOURS & PICK-UP:
The K-5 program hours are 2:30-6:00pm Monday through Thursday and 1:40-6:00pm on Fridays.
All children do quiet activities in the cafeteria from 5:15-6:00pm.
ABSENCES FOR THE PROGRAM:
Please e-mail email@example.com before noon if your child will not be attending DEDP on a given day.
We will send additional information via email on pick-up procedures & policies.
Medications & IHP:
All Epi-Pens & Inhalers including DEDP medication paperwork (Individual Health Care Form & Medication Form) must be received and reviewed before your child can start the program. You can drop off medication & forms in the Driscoll School office starting this week between 9 am and 3 pm.
**We need at least 24 hours to review forms and medication.
